Huron Lines - Older Now (Official Music Video)

Official Music Video for the debut single OLDER NOW by Windsor, Ontario band HURON LINES. SUBSCRIBE TO OUR CHANNEL here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMJDizgoyz1PC2gWwIV_rXA?sub_confirmation=1 "This song is inspired by the idea of reconnecting with what you love and not being afraid to start again at something even when it seems like the opposite of what you should do or what people expect you to do. Hopefully people can relate to it and find some inspiration. We thought it was a good way to introduce this set of songs and the new band to the world." - D. Mueller, Huron Lines Directed by Garth Jackson @ Troublelight Films. Music by Huron Lines. Words by David Mueller. Recorded, Engineered and Mixed by Joshua Kaiser of Kaiser Sound in Windsor, ON. Mastered by Bill Skibbe at Third Man Mastering in Detroit, MI. Label: Chieftown Music Distribution: Believe Music / Silver Door Entertainment Release Date: March 19th, 2021 Huron Lines is: David Mueller (guitar, vocals) Grainger Harris (guitar) Nick Mitchell (drums) RJ Brando (bass, backing vocals) Hometown: Windsor, ON, Canada Years Active: 2021 to present Graphic Design & Layout: Jordan Braithwaite at Cosech Design Artwork Photography: Jonathan Dy About HURON LINES: As anyone who’s gazed northbound down the barren downtown strip of Ouellette Avenue knows, the presence of Detroit looms large across Windsor, Ontario. For the inhabitants of Canada’s most southern city, Detroit’s crumbling art deco skyline has become a symbol of identity and pride, as Windsorites are fed a steady diet of culture as local television, and terrestrial, public, and college radio are broadcasted across the emerald Detroit River, visual artists share residency across the border, and (prior to COVID 19) access to sporting events, concerts, and music festivals are merely separated by a short trip through the Windsor/Detroit tunnel. For the four members of HURON LINES, Detroit has always been an integral part of their sound, aesthetic, and their anything-goes approach to making music. LOST AT THE BORDER, the debut album from HURON LINES is a direct result of the eclectic and adventurous nature of the scene they grew up with. Across eight tracks and 30 minutes, vocalist/guitarist Dave Mueller’s beautifully dusty delivery shapes the powerful but yearning approach, while bassist RJ Brando imposes an anthemic feel due to his soaring backup vocals. Guitarist Grainger Harris and Drummer Nick Mitchell keep the angular twin guitar attack moving forward, adding lush leads on top of a gutteral groove-filled backbeat. HURON LINES’ bandleader Dave Mueller fronted notable Windsor post-punk/noise outfit Full White Drag in the 00's, touring North America and releasing music with Inner Flight Records, before taking residency in New York City to record with producer Shane Stoneback (Vampire Weekend, Cults, Fucked Up) and musical mentor Scott McCloud (of Girls Against Boys and Soulside). Returning to his hometown, Mueller recruited a group of celebrated local musicians to release an album for a project called Club Thunderbolt. Recorded by Chris Koltay in Detroit, the 2013 LP titled City of Salt enjoyed chart success on Canadian campus radio while receiving national attention across publications like Exclaim!, who called it "a mature and instinct-driven album from a band experienced enough to bare their chops". Now paired down and featuring former contributors to the Club Thunderbolt project but with a renewed focus and with a new name, the line up consists of David Mueller on vocals/guitar, Grainger Harris (Silent Movie Type) on guitar/backup vocals, RJ Brando (Silent Movie Type, Grough) on bass, and Nick Mitchell (Godhead, Spine) on drums, LOST AT THE BORDER shows the quartet releasing the best music of their respective musical careers—pulling gracefully and forcefully from post-punk, shoegaze, garage rock, and sludge metal, all the while leaving the listener with something that could only have be birthed amongst the shadows of the Motor City. LYRICS I’m older now But i was wiser then About a couple of lies That are stuck in my head You see my get up and go It’s gone and it’s dead But if i wanted to I could start again Start again Oh now oh now oh now believe me White shirts, collars, black ties deceive me I’m so undone By the songs left unsung Oh now oh now i can’t escape me I don’t know if this one will save me I can’t pretend So i’ll just start again start again start again oh now oh now oh now my lady now i know what’s driving you crazy but i’m fighting thru all the way back to you I’m older now But i was wiser then And if wanted to I could start again Start again #alternativerockmusic #postpunkmusic #canadianband #rockband #lakestclair #ontariomusic #canadianmusic #oldernow #startagain #newmusic #newbandalert #huronlines #windsorontario #thirdmanmastering #grungemusic #noiserock #newbands #newband #rocknrollband #yqg #newrockband #90sstyle #90saesthetic

Huron Lines - Lost And Found (Official Music Video)

This video, directed by Garth Jackson of Troublelight Films, was selected as an Official Selection for the 2021 Forest City Film Festival - Music Video Category SUBSCRIBE TO OUR CHANNEL here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMJDizgoyz1PC2gWwIV_rXA?sub_confirmation=1 This is the official video for our song LOST AND FOUND. We filmed this on a DIY budget with our friend (and uber talented director) Garth Jackson at an undisclosed location in Essex County, ON. We are are excited to share it with you. The song and video are inspired by that feeling of watching someone you love slip away into the darkness and feeling helpless while at the same time feeling like you have to try to do something... talk to them, encourage them, or stare them down on a deserted road next to an illuminated greenhouse in the middle of the night... either way, it can be lonely for the one trying to help sometimes. Like sitting beside someone in a hospital bed waiting for them to wake up wondering if they ever will. While also wondering if you could have done something to change the situation. The feeling of being totally lost but knowing that there is only one place you can be in that moment.” - dm, huron lines About HURON LINES: As anyone who’s gazed northbound down the barren downtown strip of Ouellette Avenue knows, the presence of Detroit looms large across Windsor, Ontario. SUBSCRIBE TO OUR CHANNEL here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMJDizgoyz1PC2gWwIV_rXA?sub_confirmation=1 We are HURON LINES from Windsor, ON, Canada. We filmed this video during a difficult time (Spring 2021) in Ontario when we could not be together due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Garth Jackson of Troublelight Films shot this remotely across our hometown of Windsor and Essex County including drone footage over Lake St. Clair. It features the four of us cut separately (as we could not be together) which we think captures the essence of the song so it worked out in that respect. Drinking too much doesn't usually end well and it's even more detrimental as a solo undertaking.. especially the older you get and the more life throws at you. Sonically this one was written on an old baritone ukulele that was given to me when I was a kid - I have never written a song on it before but had it fixed up in anticipation of passing it on to the next generation in my family when the song fell out of the sky after a late night lost in the darkness... like most of the good ones tend to do...” - Dave Mueller, Huron Lines More about HURON LINES: As anyone who’s gazed northbound down the barren downtown strip of Ouellette Avenue knows, the presence of Detroit looms large across Windsor, Ontario. Then the moment vanishes and you wonder if it ever happened in the first place. But the feeling carries on...” - D. Mueller LONELY LOVER, the 4th single from Windsor, ON’s HURON LINES, establishes the band as one of Canada’s hardest hitting new rock bands with its edgy post-punk and atmospheric rock undertones combined with vocalist Dave Mueller’s gritty delivery. Cleverly produced by Joshua Kaiser (Psychic Void, Flower Face) in Windsor and mastered by Bill Skibbe at Third Man (Jack White, Dead Weather) in Detroit, with LONELY LOVER the band is continuing their quest to push the boundaries of what Canadian alternative rock is known for around the globe. Cleverly produced by Joshua Kaiser (Psychic Void, Flower Face) in Windsor and mastered by Bill Skibbe at Third Man (Jack White, Dead Weather) in Detroit, with LOST IN SARNIA the band is continuing their quest to push the boundaries of what Canadian alternative rock is known for around the globe. I think I was hearing stories of friends who went away with the best intentions and ended up getting lost in the plot along the way far from home. The use of Sarnia, another border city less than 2 hours from where I live, in the song was something that I think must've come subconsciously as I wanted to set the song somewhere and it was a place that I was more familiar with then towns further away in Western Canada but still had some of that same imagery around refineries and the darkness around the edges that can creep in if you are not careful.” - D.
